On Sunday September 5, 2021 the Force was strong with Caitie. In fact, it was so strong that she found herself at Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland building a lightsaber. This spur of the moment decision was made in the afternoon and hours later, she found herself in Savi’s Workshop building an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
The process has a mystical feel to it over the course of about a quarter of an hour. Not only do participants build a lightsaber, they get to determine the lightsaber they build. The process culminates with the ignition of the lightsabers in a moment that is quite moving.
